Reflections of the Season

Now that October has come and gone, it's time to reflect back on all the magic of the season...

I can do a lot of things, sewing is not one of them. I amazed myself making my youngest her bat costume from a hoodie and umbrella. Mind you that I used embroidery thread and hot glue...but it worked! I even whipped up some ears with tulle and a head-band...Sometimes I amaze myself!

The pumpkin was carved and set out on Halloween eve...the remembrance candles were lit and apple offering was left. (and may I add the apple was gone in the morning...yes I know it was probably raccoons, but.....)

There was plenty of time spent admiring the beauty of the season.

Then it was time to put it all away...somehow it looked like Halloween threw up in my kitchen....

Beaded Skulls and Halloween Treasures!

Alright, so I've been slacking on the blog lately..but there are good reasons. Most importantly I have been digging through the trenches of the basement decoration room and slowly oozing the Halloween decor through the house. I get a lot of slack over starting to decorate in August, but they just don't understand. I'm not the type to slap a paper pumpkin on the window and call it a day...no, no, no...and if I'm gonna do it up, I'm gonna enjoy it.
I have also been working hard to get my stock up for my eBay shop. Doing a lot of beading, which I absolutely love! So here are a few of my newest treasures...

Gravestone Placemats

If you are having your very own Halloween Tea then gravestone place mats are a must have! These were done very last minute and next time I want to do a lace or paper border. But you get the idea.

Luckily enough, there is a great old cemetery across the road so me and the kiddos tromped over and did some stone rubbings. From my handy-dandy computer I printed out some vintage Halloween images(whatever strikes your fancy). And then with my stamper kit I made small clippings with some colored paper.

Laid them all out on the sheets and ran it through the lamination machine...Waa Laa...

Like I said before, the next batch will have mucho more detail and finishing. If you have a specific guest list you can even search for their names on old stones, or their birthdate...so many freakin' options here!
